Privacy Policy
What’s the Move? helps people understand the current atmosphere at local venues. We collect only the information needed to operate and moderate that service.
Information we collect
- Scene Report details: venue, town, crowd, energy, music, dress, notes, Scout nickname, submission time and any photo or video you choose to upload.
- Optional venue location: if you tap “Add location for Nearby Moves,” the device’s coordinates are stored with the Scene Report and used to calculate approximate distances to other fresh reports.
- Removal requests: your name, email, relationship to the content and the information you submit for review.
- Standard technical information produced when a website is used, such as request time, browser information and network address, may be processed by our hosting and security providers.
- The private owner dashboard uses sign-in information only to verify the authorized owner.
Exact coordinates are not shown publicly or included in the public report feed. We do not request contacts or payment information. The private Scout code is checked when you post but is not stored with your Scene Report.
How information is used and shared
Scene Reports and their media are displayed publicly. Other information is used to operate, secure and moderate the service, respond to removal requests and comply with law. We may rely on service providers for hosting and storage. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and choices
Scene Reports normally appear in the live feed for six hours. Reports and uploaded media may be retained for up to 30 days for moderation and service integrity, then deleted. Removal-request information is kept only as reasonably needed to review the request and document the response.
You may request access, correction or deletion of personal information associated with a submission by using the form below. We may need enough information to locate the content and verify the request.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 18 to submit a Scene Report.
Terms of Use
By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and respectfully. Scene Reports are informal, time-sensitive observations submitted by users. We do not guarantee that a report is complete, accurate or still current when you read it.
When you post
- You confirm that you are at least 18 and that your report reflects your honest, current experience.
- You keep ownership of your content, but give What’s the Move? a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and moderate it for operation and promotion of the service.
- You confirm that you created the content or have permission to share it, including permission from clearly identifiable people who are the focus of a photo or video.
- You may not post unlawful, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, sexually explicit, deceptive or privacy-invasive material.
We may reject, hide or delete any submission, suspend posting access or preserve information when reasonably necessary for safety, moderation or legal compliance. The service may change or be unavailable without notice. To the fullest extent allowed by law, use of the service is at your own risk.
Scene Report Guidelines
- Report the room, not a person. Wide atmosphere shots are better than close-ups.
- Do not feature an identifiable person without permission or post anyone in an embarrassing, vulnerable or unsafe situation.
- Never identify or feature minors.
- Describe what you can observe now. Avoid rumors, accusations, personal attacks and claims about staff or guests.
- No spam, promotions disguised as reports, copyrighted content you do not own, nudity, violence or illegal activity.
- Respect requests from venue staff and other guests. If someone asks not to be recorded, stop.
Request Content Removal
If a Scene Report includes you, your venue or content you own, send the details below. Requests are reviewed by the site owner.
These policies describe the current beta service and may be updated as What’s the Move? grows.
